DICK FARRELLY - A QUIET MAN

In 1949, a Garda writes a song on a bus journey. Two years later, Bing Crosby makes it a world-wide hit, while John Ford uses its melody as the main musical theme his iconic film, The Quiet Man.

This Lyric feature documentary explores the influence the song The Isle of Innisfree had on Ford's film The Quiet Man and charts the musical life of its quiet composer, Dick Farrelly.
